Here at BaxterStorey we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chef Trainer to join us at our Obsessed HQ in Newbury. As the Senior Chef Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering cutting-edge culinary training programs, inspiring and guiding aspiring chefs towards excellence. Your role will involve curriculum development, hands-on training sessions, mentorship, and continuous improvement of training programs to align with industry standards.

  • Designing practical and theoretical courses from concept through to delivery
  • Responsibility for research and specifications of dishes within chef academy
  • Delivery of ‘in person’ and ‘virtual’ practical and theoretical culinary courses
  • Organisation and delivery of ordering for all practical courses
  • Responsibility for creation of new dishes using the Nourish 2 Flourish philosophy and applying appropriate kitchen administration
  • Creating practical and theoretical assignments along with marking criteria
  • Management of food stock levels within Obsessed Lab
  • Responsibility of HS/FS in Obsessed Lab, liaising directly with Obsessed Lab Host to ensure the very highest level of compliance
  • Planning and delivery of study tours for Level 4,5 and Synergy
  • Monitoring and evolving L2 and L3 with Chef Academy team
  • Involvement of creating the Chef Academy academic calendar year on year
  • Ambassador for Chef Academy within the F&B UK food team, developing relationships with senior management within BS whilst advocating and ‘selling’ the chef academy
  • Representation and delivery of Chef Academy at Obsessed lives and Obsessed connects
  • Responsibility and direct liaising with Head of Chef Academy on all aspects of CA finance, income and spend
  • Working closely with Head of Chef Academy and Obsessed Lab Host on the creating, organising, hosting, and delivery of ‘Taste of Obsessed’ and clients ‘hands in the flour’ events
  • Creating a food offer that demonstrates and showcases the annual food manifesto vision whilst delivering PACE (performance, authenticity, culture and entertainment)
  • Development and evolution of creative food ideas/campaigns for delivery within Baxterstorey
  • Organising of NPD for trailing and testing, liaising with supply chain
  • Working in alignment and collaborating with the Woodspeen team for relevant chef academy matters
  • Extensive professional experience as a chef, demonstrating a comprehensive culinary skill set across various cuisines and techniques.
  • Relevant qualification in culinary arts, education, or a related field, showcasing a strong foundation for imparting culinary knowledge.
  • Proven success in designing and delivering culinary training programs, with a track record of nurturing and developing culinary talent.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex culinary concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Passion for mentorship and the ability to create a supportive learning environment that encourages the growth and development of aspiring chefs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in adjusting training methods to accommodate various learning styles, skill levels, and evolving industry trends.
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry developments, trends, and innovations to ensure that training programs remain cutting-edge.
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to the overall success of our culinary education program.
