JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to Technical Director, the Prototype Seamstress will take care of the creation of prototypes and samples of clothing. The person will be responsible for making one or more prototypes, or a sample garment that is cut and sewn by hand or by machine, creating what the pattern maker has designed, so to produce a garment as close as possible to the stylist’s design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To make garments using different sewing techniques (by hand and by machine), with different fabrics and different processes;
  • To evaluate the tailoring interventions to improve the wearability of the garment in collaboration with the Team of Pattern Makers, as well as other technicians;
  • To execute the sample garments;
  • To manage all the activities related to the creation and fine-tuning of the models, as well as creating samples;
  • To revise the garments based on defects;
  • To realise the pre-production industrialised garments.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Eligilibility to Categorie Protette ex art. 18 legge 68/99
  • Consolidated experience as a prototype seamstress;
  • Excellent ability to work both in a team and independently, precision, agility, and attention to details;
  • Knowledge of the different types of garments and fabrics, technical knowledge of sewing and familiarity with different processes;
  • Know the production cycle of a garment and the various stages of processing;
  • Being skilled in the use of machinery (overlocker, straight line, etc.);
  • Having a good understanding of fabrics and yarns;
  • Quick and precise in studying and interpreting patterns;
  • Ability to read and use the technical data sheet.
