Vacancy Introduction

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you’ll do

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you’ll:

  • Work closely with the QA Manager (Logistics), provide support and deputise in their absence across the 3 standalone logistics sites.
  • Responsible for assisting with the implementation of food safety and quality procedures for day-to-day food manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical support to the operational and technical teams in relation to food safety, legality and product quality.

  • Complete internal audits and carry out investigations in line with the requirements of the BRC Global Standard and business requirements. To ensure process controls are implemented, maintained and monitored to ensure the food products produced are safe, legal and meet the specified quality criteria.

  • Monitoring and maintenance of product testing requirements, analysis of results and instigation of investigations and corrective action.

  • The role requires the ability to build a strong cross functional relationship, to help lead a team, build capabilities, travel and spend time in the 3 standalone logistics centres.

  • The individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, be proactive, organised and have good communication skills. Attention to detail is required with the ability to produce management reports and communicate key issues effectively on a regular basis.

  • Min 2 years food Manufacturing experience
  • Development of teams
  • Application of HACCP systems
  • Implementation of BRC Global Standard and participate in BRC audits
  • Routine / internal auditing
  • Knowledge and application of key technology related to products manufactured within region
  • Document control systems
  • Level 4 Food Hygiene
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • Basic microbiology
  • Internal audit qualification
  • Food safety / food science related HNC/HND (or equivalent)
