Job Purpose and Summary
Canon EMEA are looking for a Total Reward Senior Manager to lead the Reward team and design, develop and implement reward programs, policies, and procedures across Canon EMEA.

The role is key in  ensuring the delivery and development of Canon’s employee experience together with our talent management and people development colleagues.

You will drive the HR Mid Term Plan objectives, ensuring that the long-term vision and strategy for total reward management is set, developed and delivered.

As EMEA Total Reward Senior Manager you will be:

Working with the business to help determine Reward issues or opportunities across Canon EMEA. For all reward projects or operational reward tasks, responsible for approving the deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.

Ensuring the delivery of all Reward operational processes across EMEA in line with policy and governance frameworks. For example, annual salary review.

End to end responsibility of managing Canon EMEA Executives population annual bonus process (from bonus plan design to objective setting process, half year and annual bonus achievement calculation and communication) as well as the annual pay review process for the Canon EMEA Executive population. Ensuring the team deliver process to agreed SLA level.

Lead any reward projects or large-scale C&B change programs, including strategy design, execution, implementation, and review.

Guide business stakeholders and local HR teams across EMEA in all reward issues as the central expert within the technical field of Reward, be the thought-leader.

Provide to HR Centre of Excellence management team updates on the latest commercial and/or technical developments in industry and reward profession, presenting potential impacts for Canon EMEA. Have an overview of changes to salary-related laws and practices affecting employees in EMEA region; maintaining information on local pay practices and providing strategic input to HR Centre of Excellence management.

Review EMEA Total Remuneration Policy on an annual basis to ensure compliance and fit for purpose. Providing strategic direction for international compensation and benefits practices and policies that are aligned with business goals and objectives.
  
When needed, liaise with IT and HRIS team to provide requirements for system development and implementation. Fulfil a ‘business process owner’ role in compensation and benefits systems transformation projects, ensuring local needs are communicated clearly to central HRIS development team. This may include project management of design, implementation and change management for compensation and benefits systems transformation projects.

Prepare all materials required for EMEA Remuneration Committee meetings and facilitate the EMEA Remuneration Committee meetings.

Evaluate and compare internal and external pay equity in all geographic locations and make recommendations for maintaining competitive compensation programs.

Evaluate and support effectiveness and impact of EMEA Recognition Programs (e.g., Canon Star Award scheme)
What we ask

Experience required:

  • Extensive professional experience in a similar role within reward function (compensation and benefits function)
  • Solid experience managing a team
  • Evidence of managing annual salary increase cycles, including salary increase budget formation. Previous experience in managing a salary bands structure, including annual market review.
  • Evidence of managing bonus schemes, including design and review with an European or EMEA Remuneration committee.
  • Experience of delivering executive bonus calculations and executive salary reviews internationally
  • Experience working with Willis Towers Watson job evaluation system and compensation benchmarking system (or similar benchmark system)
  • Must have experience working in an international environment, experience with works councils advantage
  • Advanced Excel user skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Attention to detail
  • Project Management Experience – evidence of managing projects with multiple streams
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Strong communication skills and organisational skills. Evidence of ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Strong financial acumen
