We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Management Accountant to join our team within Vistry West Yorkshire, at our office in Wakefield. As our Trainee Management Accountant, you will be supporting the Finance team and using the core financial systems, which are COINS, Anaplan and Microsoft Excel. This is a great opportunity to join a successful business to begin your career in Accountancy and Finance.

  • 5 GCSEs A-C/4-9. Two of these should be Maths and English
  • 3 A Levels, grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications and good knowledge of Excel
  • Keen to gain experience in busy office environment dealing with many different departments.
  • Numerate with a strong attention to detail
  • Confident, professional manner 
  • A desire to participate in problem solving
  • Ability to take ownership for tasks and processes

Desirable…

  • Relevant university degree
  • Working experience in a finance department
  • Strong desire to learn and be challenged on a day-to -day basis
  • Knowledge of accountancy standards

More about the Trainee Management Accountant role…

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and matching to purchase orders.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Reviewing subcontractor applications.
  • Preparing month end reconciliations and management accounts to a draft position.
  • Assisting with completion of cash book and bank reconciliation on a weekly basis.
  • Producing and communicating the weekly reports to relevant staff members.
  • Liaising with solicitors and the sales team to approve completion statements and ad hoc requests.
  • Input journals as required and carry out cost investigations as requested.
  • Raise Accounts Receivable invoices as required.
  • Support with collation of Audit data requirements.
  • Regular chasing and reporting of outstanding sundry debtors.
  • Monthly Sales and Marketing cost reviews.
  • Ad Hoc reporting and generation of information to support other departments.
  • Assist with production of the budgets and forecasts as required.
