Job Description
Renishaw currently has a vacancy within the Spectroscopy Products Division for a test technician to align, build and test Raman spectrometers and sub-assemblies.
Responsibilities
-
Working within a dedicated test department, delivering low volume, high value Raman spectrometers
-
Applying best practice assembly, alignment and test processes with commitment to continuous improvement

Fault finding and diagnosis of problems

Collating test data for further analysis
Key responsibilities
-
ONC or equivalent in an engineering discipline
-
Expertise in optical / mechanical system assembly, alignment and test
-
Highly competent workmanship standards
-
PC literate – MS office
Desirable responsibilities
-
Educated to HNC (or equivalent) in Optical/Mechanical Engineering
-
A time served apprenticeship in optical /mechanical engineering
-
Expertise in quality systems
Person specification
The successful applicant will have a team centred approach and be able to work with staff from all disciplines, as well as the ability to be able to work well on their own when required. Communication skills in everything that is verbal and written will be classed as being very good. The individual will also possess an excellent attention and eye for detail with good hand/eye coordination. Detailed training in optical alignment and test will be provided.
