Location: Gateshead Hybrid role, 2-3 days office based role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a brand new role within our established procurement team for a Supply Chain Coordinator.  As Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supply chain profiling and metrics. This involves ensuring we appropriately track and monitor supply chain performance, governance and diversity and promote supply chain compliance at every opportunity. The Supply Chain Coordinator will create a robust supplier management matrix and lead on modern slavery risk assessments and audits.

As Supply Chain Coordinator you’ll be:

  • Contributing to the ongoing design and implementation of a new supply chain operating model for Churchill.
  • The drafting and implementation of effective supply chain policies and processes.
  • Leading the modern slavery program, conducting supply chain risk assessments and audits.
  • Profiling the supply chain to provide key supply chain analytics in areas such as diversity and inclusion, ESG and Scope 3 Sustainability reporting.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders and regional operational representatives across the Churchill Group to reflect and influence the needs of all businesses in the procurement strategy.
  • Assisting the Group Procurement Managers with compliance reporting, legislative monitoring and wider economic trend analysis.
  • Driving innovation and value for Churchill in the supply chain

As Supply Chain Coordinator you’ll have:

  • Demonstrable analytical skills, numerically astute with well-developed problem-solving abilities.
  • A good awareness of the end-to-end procurement process from market research, pre-qualification and sourcing through to contract and supplier management. 
  • An understanding of SLAs, KPIs, metrics and other ways to measure and report supplier performance.
  • Basic awareness of commercial and financial risks and how to manage them.
  • Ability to use own initiative to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions.
  • First class personal, written and verbal communication skills as well as tact, diplomacy and negotiating expertise in dealing with a wide range of knowledgeable suppliers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a strategy and translate it into actionable plans and manage these plans through to implementation.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI skills with particular focus on data presentation.
  • Data analysis skills and able to make judgements and recommendations based upon data.
  • This role may suit a recent graduate or someone with a passion for analytics within an operational setting.
