What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for the import and export of high-pressure natural gas and manage a high degree of control automation within a regulated environment.
As part of your role, you will be preparing for plant maintenance, review risk assessments, method statements and issue associated documentations working within the confines of the Safety Management System. You’ll also be responsible for the operations of the site facilities on a continuous 24-hour basis, meaning a rotating shift pattern will be a part of this opportunity.
Who you are
Working within a close team means you’ll be self-sufficient, have a can-do approach and have the ability to work cohesively with all members of your department. You and your peers will control the maintenance activities including testing, construction and operational areas.
A high level of organisational skills is required for this role as you will need to manage communications with Trading and Control centres as well as schedule workload, carry out meetings, create work plans and distribute towards your peers.
We’re looking for you to have experience in an operational or engineering environment and have comprehensive knowledge of working within an oil & gas or chemical industry. With this, we’re looking for you to have a relevant technical or operational qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3as well as this, relevant engineering qualifications such as HNC or other higher education courses would be highly desirable for this role.
About The Site
Our Gas Storage facility is designed to store up to 280,000 tonnes of natural gas in underground cavities. The storage cavities are spread across two active dairy farms located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Hole House (4 cavities) and Hill Top Farm (5cavities). The storage site comprises approximately 28 hectares on Hole House farm and 33 hectares on contiguous Hill Top Farm. The facility sits within our wider Thermal Generation business area, which is covered by our Generation Business Unit, you can find our more on our EDF website at https://www.edfenergy.com/
We are a small site-based team with circa 45 people, our team delivers the full operation of the facility meaning that our people get a wide breadth of experience and opportunities within their day-to-day roles as well as involvement in site projects and outages. We actively encourage and support our team members to continuously develop themselves and their roles to enable the continued high performance of the site.
