Salary: Up to £37,500 dependent on experience

We’re looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of the Environmental, Social and Governance landscape to help shape and direct the Society’s ESG investment to achieve the greatest impact, and communicate our progress and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll have specific expertise in Social initiatives, and be able to research, identify and quantify new opportunities in the charitable and community sectors that maximise positive Social impact and align with the ambitions of the Society’s community strategy.

You’ll define what best practice looks like and take responsibility for establishing and communicating the Social value delivered by the Society’s community programmes.  This includes responsibility for our relationships with third parties including Business for Social Impact and Business in the Community, and deliver improved ratings through indices like the Responsible Business Tracker.

You’ll be responsible for communications relating to our social impact performance and help deliver a strong narrative through internal and external channels that positions the Society as a credible and proactive leader in its ESG ambitions. You’ll create frameworks for collecting quantitative and qualitative community information and producing copy and material for internal and external audiences.  This includes content for the website, mainstream and social media, and preparing and updating social impact information for external reporting.

You’ll be responsible for the GRI disclosures relating to Community, and be the focal point of contact and support for other areas of the business in order to deliver effective management information on ESG plans and initiatives. 

You’ll support the CR Manager on monitoring best practice in ESG, and materiality assessments, and work with members of the Community team to deliver the Society’s positive Social impact.

You’ll be a confident self-starter with an excellent understanding of ESG, in particular the ‘Social’ element and be experienced at measuring social impact, with a thorough understanding of ESG reporting frameworks.

You’ll have excellent relationship management and influencing skills and experience of working with a range of stakeholders including senior management, third party suppliers and charities.

You’ll be an excellent communicator and influencer, both in person and through internal and external communication channels with an ability to write content, be a confident presenter, and excellent networker.
