We are recruiting for a Senior Specialist Auditor Lead in our Group Internal Audit Team.
The risk landscape at the Skipton Group is becoming more complex and fast-moving. Can you provide assurance, advise, help the business anticipate risk and accelerate a culture of risk awareness? If the answer is yes, then this may be the job for you.
Who Are We?
Not just another building society. Not just another job.
We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members. Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.
Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.
You’ll join the Group Internal Audit (‘GIA’) team, comprising 35 colleagues. We’re a team of specialists with skills in IT Audit, Data Analytics, Finance & Prudential and Operational and Conduct Risk. The GIA team work right across the Skipton Group.
You’ll focus specifically on the Home Financing and Money businesses within the Skipton Group, working closely with other colleagues in GIA. You’ll get the opportunity to work with colleagues at all levels across both businesses. You’ll also play a key role in understanding key risks the business is facing, assessing how we manage those risks and working with colleagues in the first and second lines to help protect our customers. You’ll play a part in influencing and shaping the future strategy and direction of GIA team as we look to advance our use of data analytics, agile auditing and our approach to joined up assurance with colleagues in the second line.
What’s In It For You?

This diverse range of operational and conduct risk reviews includes how we’re embedding Consumer Duty requirements, through Mortgage Lending, to Savings account customer journeys, to how we gather data to support our Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting. We’re also delivering transformative changes to our Savings and Financial Advice propositions, so you’ll have the opportunity to deliver project assurance work in these areas.
-
You’ll coach, support and develop other colleagues in GIA as you lead out on delivering our Audit Plan.
-
