JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Manager, HR Business Partner, you’ll work as a strategic partner to our Retail Business leaders and their Executive Teams to support and enable business delivery and transformation through our people. As a true HR expert and leader, you will be responsible for defining a strategic people plan to drive exceptional performance, focusing on talent, performance, culture and change and aligning with the strategy of our Retail teams and Burberry Values.

This Senior Manager, HR Business Partner role is based in Munich, Germany, with travel expected through the market area of Northern Europe, including Germany, Spain and Portugal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Developing and delivering a strategic people plan, and as a member of the Senior Business Leadership Team, contribute and influence the development and implementation of our functional strategy
  • Succession planning across senior Retail roles, ensuring exceptional talent flow across the organisation with clear talent plans and capability programmes with a diversity, equity and inclusion lens
  • Partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, proactively anticipating business needs, identifying trends and optimising opportunities 
  • Coaching senior business leaders to manage key people challenges, providing guidance and insight to build confidence and capability 
  • Providing expert analysis of people analytics and metrics to identify people issues and trends, designing and implementing initiatives with the wider HR team and Executive teams to address and pre-empt challenges
  • Collaborating across HR to ensure processes, policies and solutions meet business needs and are successfully embedded 
  • Driving Employee Engagement Surveys across all geographies, encouraging participation and follow ups
  • Initiate and shape transformational business change design and restructuring needs
  • Liaising with local trade unions with meetings and planning agreements where needed
  • Acting as a point of contact for ER cases and grievances, escalating where necessary to Legal teams; and working with the Asset Profit Protection function on internal investigations

PERSONAL PROFILE

 

  • You’ll be an experienced HR practitioner, with demonstrable examples of influencing at a senior level within a commercial, global organisation with a retail/volume focus
  • Proven delivery of strategic HR objectives; able to demonstrate diagnosis of issues, consideration of options and approaches and ability to accomplish things seamlessly in a matrix environment
  • Fluent in English and German, any other European language skills highly advantageous
  • Experience of navigating works council dynamics/trade unions
  • Expert communication skills, able to confidently engage and challenge at a senior level
  • Coaching capability to support talent development 
  • Ability to use and interpret data to inform decision-making 
  • Ability to manage complex problems and competing priorities
