About the role

Are you a people person with a passion for making a difference? Join us in our mission to support the recruitment of social care professionals who are dedicated to uplifting our communities. You can help us to achieve our corporate vision of becoming a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire.

Our team supports recruitment for services across Adults and Childrens Social Care, as well as providing advice and guidance for other teams across the council. Due to internal promotion, we have a vacancy for a Recruitment Advisor to join us! Don’t worry if you don’t have recruitment experience, if you have excellent customer service and administration skills and share our values, we’d love to hear from you.

We work on a hybrid basis, from home or at our purpose-built, state of the art offices in Alconbury Weald. We try to get together at least a couple of times a month for collaborative working and when required (if you’d prefer to work in the office more regularly, you’re able to do so). Additional face-to-face time in the office will be provided to support with your induction, training and development.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent at the end of the 12 months.

Although mainly working remotely, the team are in frequent contact with each other and always available to talk to; we have a friendly, encouraging working environment.

The role is available full-time, but we can consider part-time applicants, as a council we have a flex-from-first approach allowing flexible working requests from day one.

The council is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and the Recruitment Team work to ensure that we promote and develop fair, unbiased recruitment practices.

For more information about the role, please contact Samantha Holland-Morris at samantha.morris@cambridgeshire.gov.uk, and I will be happy to arrange a call at a convenient time to answer your questions and give you some detail about the role.

Interviews will be held at New Shire Hall, Alconbury Weald, on the 2nd and 3rd of May.

About you

This is a busy role, so you should be able to effectively manage your time and workload to prioritise and deliver to deadlines (working to planned interview/start dates etc.)

The ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at various levels is key, as you’ll need to build collaborative working relationships, to understand and support the needs of the service.

Vacancy numbers can fluctuate significantly within the services, so an adaptable and resilient approach is required to respond positively to changing demands.

You’ll be confident with MS Office and able to learn new IT systems (we provide support and guidance documents).

If you feel you have relevant transferable skills, please do apply as we will always take this into account when shortlisting.
