Quality Assurance Lead

 

A new opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Lead to join us in Generation Information Systems (Gen IS) where delivering safe, reliable power is at the heart of our generation business. 

 

Accountable for ensuring that IT projects and services delivered to Generation are compliant with the EDF Energy regulatory framework and Generation policy and procedural arrangements.

Pay, benefits and culture 

 

We can offer a competitive salary from £54,391 – £84,892 dependent on experience and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position, however we will be happy to discuss options regarding part time flexibility and job share if you would like to highlight this on your application.

What you’ll be doing 

 

The Quality Assurance Lead will:

  • Provide assurance of the Quality arrangements of projects delivered to Generation, assist in the development and implementation of quality requirements for IT projects.
  • Undertake the role of Intelligent Customer for specific IT projects within Gen IS and Enterprise IT (EIT)
  • Provide support to the Governance & Assurance Manager to aid meeting the objectives (defined within the Head of Generation Information Systems responsibilities) and applies to all IT systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Site Licence Conditions and any project that has the potential to impact on the Generation IT estate.
  • Represent the Generation business on Steering Groups, Project and Programme Boards, especially for enterprise and corporate programmes, as directed by GAQ manager.

 

Who you are

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual, who can plan and lead assurance activities on the Projects and Services provided to Generation, ensuring compliance with Generation policies, procedures and Site Licence Conditions.   This will in some circumstances require them to undertake the role of Intelligent Customer for specific IT projects. The successful candidate must be able to provide support to maintain an effective relationship on behalf of Generation Information Systems with both the internal and external regulators.
 
Alongside the primary QA role they will also assist in the oversight of the use of the Management of Change process (LC36) within the IT community. Initiate and/or participate in Corrective Action Process (CAP) (i.e. MACI, ACIN or SACI) investigations where necessary and assist in the management of IT risks.

Ideally you will have experience in Quality Assurance within EDF (formal qualifications beneficial), capable of managing discussions with contractors and external regulators with a level of a good understanding of IT service/project delivery and contract management. You will be trained in Human Performance and be a “Nuclear Professional”, understand the concept and requirements of an “Intelligent Customer” with a good understanding of nuclear safety and security regulation and compliance. Ideally you will have a good understanding of site licence conditions (Nuclear) and how they apply to IT projects and services and have an understanding of Safety Case Management and Engineering Change.
