The Opportunity…
As a Process Safety Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the NNB Pre-Operations Surveillance Programmes Lead in the delivery of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) operational processes, documentation, and strategy for the delivering efficient and effective Process Safety.
In this role you will oversee the development of the Process Safety Team, as well as assist in the shaping and development of the processes required to deliver the Process Safety requirements in the operational station, including analysis of regulatory requirements.

What you’ll be doing…
- Leading the development and implementation of internal Process Safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
- Leading on Process Safety Risk Assessments (HAZOP, LOPA, Bow Tie studies).
- Providing leadership and technical assistance on process safety issues acting as the local expert for process safety activities.
- Interacting with system engineering to ensure process safety is embedded in engineering processes and knowledge.
- Supporting the wider organisation in assessing day-to-day process safety related issues
- Developing the team responsible for ensuring process safety (DSEAR, LOLER, PSSR, COMAH).
- Developing appropriate leading and lagging key performance indicators.
- Participating in Process Safety incident investigations
- Acting as a Process Safety subject matter expert in the Management of Change process.
- Conducting analysis of technical documentation.
- Assisting in the verification of documentation
- Maintaining interfaces and develop relationships (technical & functional) with other HPC departments EPR Family Stations and EDF Energy’s existing Nuclear Business.
- Researching operating experience from the wider industries applicable to the HPC project and promote its use and application to make HPC a World Class performer.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
- Experience working in a COMAH environment.
- A relevant qualification from the Process Safety Management Competency Board will be beneficial.
- Experience of mechanical/electrical/C&I plant systems.
- Be able to develop and follow procedures.
- Able to develop work plans and deliver them safely and efficiently.
- Have experience of working in a project environment.
- Experience of dealing with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK based and international).
- Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline.
- Hold an Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
