Job Title: Process Improvement Lead

£46,000 circa dependant on skills and experience 

Permanent – 37 Hours a week 

Location: Based within the Anglian Water Region, covering areas such as Northampton, Basildon, Ipswich, Norwich, Grimsby, Lincoln, Huntingdon & Cambridge  

Your role will involve travelling across our region to support process and continuous improvement within our Water Recycling operational teams. We offer the ability to work from home when appropriate however you will need to be flexible to cover the entire Anglian region.

What will my role as Performance Improvement Lead involve?

In this role you will be supporting our RCA and Performance Improvement Manager as well as other senior leaders across the Business Stream to better understand opportunities to use data and insight to improve performance. This will include facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and using the data and themes gathered to support improvement opportunities.

As a Performance Improvement Lead, you will support identifying the root cause, streamlining processes, driving continuous improvements, and nurturing a culture of Performance. Your role will also be about coaching others to undertake and understand the value of RCA.

This is a key part of our role as Environmental Stewards and will be supporting our front-line teams with activities that will drive continuous improvement in all our environmental performance metrics, including pollutions, flooding, and compliance.

Your key duties will include:

  • Support our front-line teams in the identification of opportunities to drive operational performance using RCA and Lean Improvement methodologies, for example Six Sigma or other Lean processes.

  • Use data, analysis, and insight to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Support process improvement at the front line across all of Water Recycling including assurance that improvement is implemented consistently, monitored, and sustained.

  • Collaborate with other teams across the business to help focus and embed change.

  • Work closely with the rest of the WR Performance Team to ensure consistency of delivery.

  • Support our portfolio of Communities of Practice across Water Recycling.

What does it take to be a Performance Improvement Lead?

  • Understanding of RCA methodologies and techniques.

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience/accreditation.

  • Skills to develop reporting and insight using PowerBI and other Microsoft Power Platforms.

  • Capability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.

  • Commercial awareness, including financial, knowledge, and judgement.

  • Ability to challenge constructively and reach positive outcomes.

  • Creative thinking and ability to question the norm.

  • Aptitude to develop and present clear and reasoned strategic options.

  • Full UK driving licence.
