Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.
The Cygnet Group Central Safeguarding Team is recruiting a new Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children (including Looked after Children) and Adults (National). The role reports into the Head of Safeguarding and works alongside the Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults and Children, a Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults and MCA (Social Care), dedicated site based colleagues and the central team is further supported by a Safeguarding Administrator.
The Named Nurse will work across the organisation to support colleagues and Safeguarding Leads with safeguarding adults as well as providing expert advice to Safeguarding Leads in the inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS).
The Central Safeguarding Team adopts a Think Family, life course and ‘Transitional Safeguarding’ approach, and the Named Nurse will support colleagues to be cognisant and work in line with these approaches.
This national role is an opportunity to support colleagues working across a wide variety of mental health services. This role is a remote working role, IT equipment and phone will be provided. Travel will be required to attend sites across the UK as well as meetings in UK-wide locations; driving a car and using public transport required; occasional staying away from home overnight during the week may be required where virtual meetings are not facilitated by external stakeholders.
