Job Title: IT Technical Consultant
Circa £36,000, salary depending on skills and experience
12 month Fixed term contract
Full time / 37 Hours a week

If you answered yes, then we have a fantastic opportunity to join our onsite IT support team based in Peterborough.
Working in one of our Tech Bars at our key campus sites, in this role you will provide first and second line support to colleagues in a face to face, walk-in environment. You will support colleagues to ensure that they are getting the most out of the technology that is available to them, always ensuring this is done with a real focus on making sure you provide a fantastic experience to every colleague that you support.
We have a large Microsoft 365 footprint so hands-on experience of using, and supporting others to use, the M365 suite of applications is essential in this role.
Our device estate is mostly made up of Windows laptops and Android tablets and phones. Our teams use a mix of off the shelf applications, in-house developed and hosted apps, and 3rd party data centre hosted apps. We also have a diminishing Citrix footprint so experience of providing support in a 3rd party hosted Citrix environment that uses thin client technology would also be of benefit.
Our Tech Bars are open during core business hours and provide a friendly environment that colleagues can visit when they need help. As well as providing support face to face, many of our colleagues work from home or out in the field, so we also provide support remotely using tools such as quick assist, go to assist and Team Viewer.
We use device management tools such as Microsoft Intune and auto-pilot, Samsung Knox and E-Fota and Azure AD. If you have working experience with these tools, then we’d love to hear from you.
Your days will be varied, and there will be occasional. but regular travel. to our operational sites where you will provide support to operational teams during organised ‘pop-up’ support events.
You will work closely with your immediate team members, but you are also part of a larger Service Delivery team that includes our offshore service desk and second/third line support teams.
Providing great customer service and being self-motivated with a can-do attitude are all key attributes for this role.
What does it take to be an IT Technical Consultant?
Excellent working knowledge of M365 applications such as Onedrive, Sharepoint, Teams etc.
A passion for Technology and helping people
Great listening skills and the ability to empathise
Educated to A level or equivalent in Computer Science/ IT related subject
Experience of working with device management tools such as Intune, Azure AD and Samsung Knox & E-Fota
Currently working in an IT support role with 3+ years experience.
