We are currently looking for an Internal Account Manager to join our team in Tarmac Stancombe office, Flax Bourton near Bristol. This is a key office based role working in the commercial team with responsibility for ensuring delivery of sales of higher margin revenue streams of Surface Dressing and Aglime. This role is commutable from Long Ashton, Nailsea, Portbury, Portishead, Wrington, Langford, Yatton, Bristol and the surrounding areas.

In the role of Internal Account Manager you will be working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. Following successful completion of training you will have the option for hybrid working.

Reporting to the Internal Sales Manager, the Internal Account Manager will be responsible for leading the development of the strategic plan to maximise the benefits of our Surface Dressing and Aglime reserves.

The role of Internal Account Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Delivering annual budgeted volumes, pricing and margin for Surface Dressing and Aglime
  • Developing and maintaining Surface Dressing and Aglime regional sales pipeline to drive performance
  • Negotiating alongside Procurement with key third party hauliers for Surface Dressing fixed lane agreements
  • Directly managing, engaging and developing a predetermined portfolio of Tarmac customer accounts aligned to the commercial strategy
  • Ensuring that all commercial target requirements are achieved through a diligent and intelligent approach aligned with commercial strategy
  • Forging relationships beyond immediate account portfolio with key influencers in order to gather market and commercial intelligence. Feeding relevant data into the Sales Pipeline management process, sharing and escalating knowledge within the business for commercial gain
  • Cost effective distribution of Surface Dressing and Aglime materials using local systems
  • Working closely with Operations to understand potential issues and opportunities in-line with commercial strategy
  • Ensuring the customer service expectations are met through influence developing a service excellence ethos
  • Surface dressing and aglime is seasonal work, hence out of season you will be working on local bespoke commercial projects

 

The ideal candidate for the role of Internal Account Manager will already have sales experience gained working within the surface dressing sector and you will be able to create rapport through considered questioning and accurate active listening.

In addition to proven sales capability suitable candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Successful sales track record with the ability to build relationships and trust through providing solutions to a customer’s pain derived from explorative interaction.
  • Experience of gaining commitment and awareness of how to ‘close the deal’
  • Effective conflict resolution skills – handling situations in a positive manner where conflict exists without giving away company liability
  • Account management experience evidencing tracking and developing portfolio of accounts, forging working relationships with customers and being the ‘go to person’ for own customers
  • Proven negotiating skills with effective use of questioning and listening to establish customer needs vs wants. You will also be proficient in convincing / persuading others
  • Strong influencing skills – able to adopt appropriate approaches to influence and persuade others
  • Effective self management capability including being flexible, prioritising, planning and monitoring own activity and progress
  • Proven decision making ability – comfortable making decisions and adopting a systematic process encompass options, risks and commercial gain in line with the needs of the business
  • An excellent understanding of regional market and competitive landscape
