HR Advisor – Based at King’s Mill Hospital responsible for the Sherwood Hospital Trust – Fixed term contract until 30th June 2024. 
£27500 per annum / 40 hours per week
We’re currently recruiting a dedicated HR Advisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To oversee all ER cases including attending meetings as required including being a note taker and to escalate to the HR Manager accordingly
  • Provide a service overview/findings on a monthly basis to the Medirest Compliance team 
  • Monitoring of all long term cases
  • Ensure the Medirest & Trust Absence policy is adhered to including supporting the preparation of packs for Stage 2 Capability Hearing’s in line with Trust policy for RoE
  • Liaising with the Medirest Payroll Operations team with dates of updated medical notes prior to cut off periods
  • Arrange monthly meetings with service managers to determine HR activity
  • To work with the on site Training Coordinator and central Learning & Development team to provide a schedule of staff training courses available and disseminate accordingly
  • Monitor on a monthly basis staff retention, absence and sickness, developing procedures for managers to minimise this
  • Manage the annual appraisal and probationary process, reviewing regularly
  • Communicate with Trade Unions and Trust on a regular formal basis, take minutes and distribute accordingly
  • Confirm contractual changes and update ESR
  • Attend Trust meetings as required
  • Attend any Compass meetings as requested
  • Attend training courses as requested
  • Assist with Compass initiatives’ directed by HR Business Partner / HR Manager
  • Liaise with managers and the central Payroll team to ensure that the Medirest & Trust Maternity, Paternity and Shared Parental Leave policies are adhered to
  • Supporting managers and employees with flexible working requests in line with policy
  • Undertaking DBS Risk Assessments for new starters in line with Company policy and working collaboratively with key stakeholders and teams to ensure risks to patients, colleagues and the business are minimised
  • Ensuring that all relevant ID documents are returned to facilitate the return of DBS’
  • Ordering stationary items as and when required
  • Processing leavers on the system including the issuing of relevant letters and liaising with the Payroll team where required
  • Compiling posters as and when required 
  • Perform any duties as requested appropriate to the needs of the business

Our ideal HR Advisor will:
Essential: 
Knowledge and Skills
  • At least 2 years HR experience
  • Knowledge of the service industry, working directly with staff.
  • Must be a team player and  able to motivate and communicate with the team.
Education and Qualifications
  • Must have gained GCSE/GCE/CSE in English and Maths.
  • Must have gained or working towards CIPD. 
  • PC Literate
Experience
  • Dealing with employees.
  • Interviewing.
  • Familiar with Health and Safety Regulations such as COSHH, Infection Control and Manual Handling.
Desirable:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Previous HR experience in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • CIPD qualification
  • Delivering and facilitating training.
