Circa £90,000, salary depending on skills and experience

Hybrid role, working from Huntingdon or Lincoln
Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be in ether Huntingdon or Lincoln, with travel to both sites. There will be an expectation to be working in the office 2 days a week.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of the Office of the CIO to join the business on a permanent basis.
The Digital & Technology Office is a team that is independent of the larger IS functions, such as Service Delivery or Digital Architecture and maintains an impartial, cross-enterprise perspective similar to that of the Director, Digital & Technology.
Sitting on the IS Senior Leadership Team, the position will lead a team of standardised cross-directorate technology management capabilities to ensure a strategic approach to the application of Digital and Technology across Anglian Water and a consistent, transparent, and efficient approach to the way the Directorate delivers value to our customers and colleagues.
The Digital & Technology Office is comprised of four core capabilities:

Digital Business Operating Model
The team will operate with a balance of recurring tasks and the ability to respond to specific challenges including acting as an incubator for nascent capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:

Facilitating the creation of the strategy and strategic plan. The strategy should not be limited to the IS organization, but rather how digital, data and technology will contribute to business success across our business

Facilitating the design and maintenance of the operating model required to successfully execute our strategy

Defining, maintaining and reporting on the metrics that will be followed to track the progress of IS achievements against objectives. This will not be limited to IS’ own scorecard, but also the contribution of IS to business performance

Orchestrate the governance mechanisms ensuring that the appropriate decisions are made to implement the business and IS strategy

This role is a key strategic leadership role, working collaboratively both across the directorate and the wider organisation to develop strategies to create a safe, successful, secure, productive and high performing business

What does it take to be the Head of the Office of the CIO?

Experienced digital and technology professional who has a clear understanding of how Anglian Water succeeds, how IS contributes and how digital and technology can better contribute to success

Excels at stakeholder management, can lead through influence and operate with levels of ambiguity

Has the ability to communicate opportunities enabled by digital technologies and is able to focus strategy, governance and other cross-directorate IS management capabilities on preparing for the future

Brings people together from across Anglian Water to work collaboratively

Substantial experience in a leadership position responsible for building, motivating and leading high performing teams

Experience of leading within an Agile delivery function and culture of continuous integration & improvement

Experience working in matrix-managed organisation

A strong ability to form good relationships with a diverse set of very senior stakeholders in all parts of an organisation
