Head of Delivery – Brighton
Costain have a rare opportunity for a Head of Delivery to take a Strategic lead role within a highly respected main partner operating in the Southern Water (SWS) sector region. This is a senior appointment, and we are looking for someone with real drive and passion to further strengthen the CMDP relationship with SWS and take the framework to the next level.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Framework Director, this is a hands-on role, as well as strategic management, client development, people management, community and customer orientation with a digital vision.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the CMDP team in all aspects of delivery
Provide strategic and professional guidance to Construction Managers, Project Managers and wider members of the team
Actively champion wellbeing, safety and environment performance, and compliance throughout your team to create a safety culture to ensure Zero LTI and RIDDOR Incidents
Develop and maintain a high-performance culture across the CMDP team, delivering efficiencies and continuous improvement
Provide whole life oversight and accountability for the successful delivery of projects, through design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and handover
Deliver commercial and financial performance in line with budget expectations
Promote and actively demonstrate collaborative behaviours within the CMDP JV team
Ensure compliance with SWS and CMDP governance requirements
Establish and grow excellent relationships with SWS and other Delivery Partners
About You
Extensive experience in leading, managing, developing, and motivating senior people and teams – your leadership skills will be key to success in this role
Able to demonstrate a real passion for construction and project delivery
Significant amount of contract delivery experience where you have successfully managed a regional framework of multiple projects and/or programmes of a complex or critical nature in a collaborative delivery environment
Technical understanding of Water and Wastewater treatment
Confident making high risk decisions whilst maintaining your commitment to excellence
Strong communicator with the ability to build strong, trusting stakeholder and partner relationships and influence at all levels to achieve mutual success
Excellent knowledge, and experience of CDM and Construction & Engineering Management
Solid commercial, financial and analytical skills
Experience with Digital Strategy in construction
Qualifications and Training HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline SMSTS qualification NEC PM accreditation (preferred) Association of Project Management APMP (preferred)
