Job Title: Finance Manager – Fixed Assets & IFRS16

Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage fixed assets and IFRS16 lease accounting; helping to ensure robust financial control and reporting.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant ACCA or equivalent, who has experience with managing a fixed asset register, while maintaining and enhancing financial controls. Sound knowledge of IFRS16 leases would also be highly desirable for this position.
This role will also involve managing two Analysts, therefore people management experience is also important.
Key responsibilities:

Responsible for all fixed assets and capex reporting requirements ensuring the Group’s capitalisation policies and control processes are working effectively

Oversee fixed asset register period end processes such as asset additions, disposals, depreciation etc.

Ownership of the Group’s IFRS16 control and reporting including responsibility for the lease accounting system

Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for fixed assets and IFRS 16 ensuring reconciling items are investigated and resolved

Analyse project costs, working with relevant teams to ensure costs are recorded accurately

Prepare budgets, forecasts and 5-year plans for fixed assets and IFRS 16 for both balance sheet and p&l

Provide information and insight to stakeholders such as finance business partners, store managers, operations teams, etc. as and when required to help shape and deliver strategies of the wider business

Assist with interim and year-end external audits and internal audits as necessary

Manage and develop two direct reports
What are we looking for:

Qualified accountant ACCA or equivalentÂ

Familiar with capex reporting and managing a fixed asset register

Maintaining and enhancing financial controls

Experience managing people

Knowledge of IFRS 16 – Leases

Knowledge of IAS 16 – Property, Plant & Equipment

Advanced Excel skills
