The function is part of the Strategy and Corporate Affairs directorate and consists of five teams which together provide expertise and analysis across Strategy, Sustainability, Policy and Regulation, supporting our existing activities and preparing for the future.

The opportunity…

As the Energy Economics Senior Analyst, you will be designing, implementing, and maintaining power market models and using commercial software to undertake market and strategic analysis. You will develop insight into a wide range of areas relevant to EDF’s businesses and vision for the future market environment.

Working closely with analysts across EDF Group, you will ensure scenarios for the power markets are developed on sound and coherent quantitative foundations, present clear conclusions and recommendations and support projects of strategic importance, providing analysis to help shape the policy agenda.

What we’re looking for…

As the Energy Economics Senior Analyst, you will have strong experience within a relevant analytical function, a good understanding of the UK energy industry and experience in defining and solving complex problems.

The role comes with a high level of autonomy, and therefore we are looking for somebody with a rigorous and accountable mindset with the ability to quickly grasp and tackle new topics. You will be able to take initiative and help shape an evolving work scope, where appropriate.

You will have a collaborative and personable approach, be able to communicate effectively, support the development of others and be able to peer review others’ analytical work.

If you’re an excellent problem solver with a strong commercial, numerical and analytical focus then we would love to hear from you!
