EDF Renewables is one of the UK and Ireland’s leading renewable energy companies. We develop, build, operate and maintain renewable technologies throughout their lifetime.
We have one of the largest portfolios of battery storage projects in the UK, with approximately 2GW throughout the country at various stages of development. We install batteries connected directly to the high-voltage transmission network and develop a private wire infrastructure to enable, among other opportunities, the development of electric vehicle and bus charging infrastructure across the UK. We are also developing hybrid projects with solar and wind across the UK.
As Development Manager for Battery Storage Investments you will play a key role in maximising the value creation of the utility scale storage business building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stake holders as well as multi-disciplinary subject-matter experts (e.g. engineering, procurement, legal etc) to de-risk projects and prepare them for investment decisions to secure a route to market and clear delivery plan prior to handover to construction for the project(s).
What do you need to be great in this role?
As Development Manager you will have a strong working knowledge and understanding of project life-cycles and risks across (ideally) large scale battery storage or renewable energy projects underpinned with a financially/commercially focused degree.
With demonstrable experience of driving the strategic growth of competitive projects and finding commercially viable routes to market to secure Financial Investment Decision coupled with a clear delivery plan prior to handover to the Construction team you will also play a key role in building and maintain relationships with stakeholders including co-investors and policy makers.
This role is not a sales role but does require excellent relationship building skills as well as project management skills.
At EDF Renewables we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the description, we encourage you to apply anyways.
