The role is commutable from Washington, Chester-le-Street, Concord, Springwell, Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas.
As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor (Chartered) you will be bringing life to various projects! You will be in a client facing role, building strong relationships with the customer. The role will involve working both indoors and outdoors, engaging with numerous departments with a wide variety of activities to carry out.

A typical day as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor (Chartered) will be very varied but typically you could be involved in:
Activities may include:
Learning about the different business functions and what our contacting business does.
Reviewing and preparing client accounts.
Quantifying projects from drawings.
Generating payments and sub-contract purchase orders.
Understand Tarmac’s financial cycle and how and when documents need to be submitted to meet tight deadlines.
Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed!
While learning in your day-to-day role, you will complete our Professional Quantity Surveying Programme, giving you a good grounding to start an exciting career in our industry. This gives the opportunity to become chartered in your field.
You will also be enrolled in our business core skills programme, providing further opportunities for personal development, networking and business exposure.
Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:
Must be 18 years of age before Sep 2023, PLUS 96 UCAS (A Levels or Equivalent) points AND GCSEs A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) in both English and Maths
Enthusiastic about starting a career in the building materials industry!

ESSENTIAL – you must hold a full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points as you will have access to a company vehicle for this role in visiting other sites
