The Opportunity

As a Contract Manager you will be a core member of our EDF Renewables Asset Operations commercial team. You’ll report to the Commercial Manager and provide a comprehensive contract management service to support safe reliable generation of our operating assets.
 

A key part of your role as Contract Manager is to Develop and grow relationships with internal stakeholders and key external contractors.

What you’ll be doing

Ensuring a high standard of commercial and contract administration support is available to the asset operations team in addition to the following;

  • Demonstrate a positive, transparent and honest business culture.
  • Demonstrate a consistent, logical and methodical approach to decision making.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of risk identification and management
  • Ensure value for money and a high-performance standard is realised through key contracts and framework agreements, liaise with contract users to obtain key contractor performance feedback, communicate to contractors the expected standards and ensure contractor accountability, develop and manage contractor performance KPI’s.
  • Manage administration process around key framework agreements which includes issuing contract instructions, assessment of contractor payment applications, issuing certificates and instructing payments, cost spend reporting, resolving disputed items, issuing contractual correspondence, identifying additional services/variations and providing quotations.
  • Co-ordinate, draft and issue the required contractual monthly reports.
  • Support the asset operations team to obtain best value through existing contracts, optimising opportunities to maximise revenues (generation and service fees) Assess and review contract claims, record and resolve day to day commercial claims and disputes, monitor contractual obligations and hold contractors to account.
  • Create a clear auditable record and log of the decisions made to either accept, reject or compromise on OMA presented claims.

 

What do you need to be great at this role?
 

You’ll thrive in this role if you possess very strong organisational skills, can demonstrate strong contract management and commercial experience, are able to prioritise and enjoy working in a team.

The role is the focal point for key supplier engagement and management, forging and building upon key relationships whilst maintaining a high level of supplier accountability. You’ll maximise the commercial value of a wide variety of contracts and agreements whilst promoting high standards of safety & quality.

  • Desirable, RICS or CIPS qualified (or working towards full membership).
  • Preferably a commercial qualification equivalent to HNC/HND or NVQ level 4
  • Ability to demonstrate strong contractual and performance management and commercial experience of at least 2 years.
  • Experience of working in an operational environment, ideally with an engineering or industrial sector background.
  • Proven ability to conduct successful commercial negotiations with contractors.
  • Understanding of cost and budget control.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills.
  • Strong negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Claims Management and dispute resolution experience.
