Salary:

  • Oversee a customer-facing transport planning team, responsible for promoting and delivering excellent standards of customer service
  • Plan, organise and manage the work of your team to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with EMR policies and the legal requirements
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve EMR policies, procedures, goals and objectives
  • Work with EMRs Logistics & Fleet Engineering Department to ensure cost effective servicing and repairs
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies
  • Oversee the management of the drivers, including recruitment, induction training, licence checks, records, driver hours rule and working time
  • In line with EMR objectives, arrange employee training sessions on subjects as H&S, driver CPC
  • Promote safe working activities by conducting safety audits, attending EMR safety meetings
  • Manage activities related to dispatching, routing and tracking vehicles
  • Build strong relationships with 3P transport and transport related suppliers
  • Overseeing and promoting cost / fuel efficient vehicle routing
  • Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or trade complaints. Raise records of complaints in line with EMR procedures
  • Conduct investigations in cooperation with HR and SHE coordinators to determine causes of incidents and to improve safety procedures
  • Ensure that optimal levels of vehicle utilisation are achieved
  • Ensuring that vehicles, equipment and operations do not have an unduly adverse impact on the environment in which they operate
  • Analyse expenditure, haulage recovery and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies and budgets for reducing costs
  • Minimise VOR by planning holiday cover, minimising accidents and maintenance issues
  • Ensure all maintenance of transport records required to demonstrate compliance with legal requirements
  • Encourage feedback from the drivers and support creativity and new ideas
  • Track relevant transport KPIs e.g. VOR, driver and vehicle efficiency, fuel use indicators
  • Produce a comprehensive monthly report

  • You have a strong track record of achievement in transport management within your industry
  • You’re experienced in managing a dynamic team, and your management style is collaborative and inclusive.
  • You will have a proven track record of  managing multi site transport operations
  • Hold a standard national or international certification of professional competence
  • Your track record demonstrates that you are motivated and driven to achieve increased efficiencies, reduced costs, and improved outcomes
